Failed assault on armored van, investigation continues: interrogations and further investigations overnight

The Carabinieri continued their investigations into the failed robbery of the Mondialpol armored van in Cagliari overnight : investigators believe there were at least ten, perhaps more, criminals involved in the incident, who were hoping to take home a huge haul.

A carefully planned attack, first with a detailed plan for the attack, then with the theft of the vehicles involved in the robbery, on state highway 387, just outside Sant'Andrea Frius (a destroyed truck, another large vehicle, positioned at a distance and loaded with sand), and a Fiat Multipla, which was also set on fire.

The heist failed only thanks to the skill of the driver of the armored vehicle , who, with a sudden maneuver, avoided ending up in the net of vehicles parked along the road, between the 30th and 29th kilometers of state highway 387.

Several people were questioned throughout the day and into the night: the officers also reportedly collected numerous testimonies that could be useful in the ongoing investigation. Searches are also being conducted on the body of a burned car and other vehicles that may have been used by the criminals.

It cannot be ruled out that the large gang was made up of people from different parts of the island , each with a very specific role.
