Arzana is preparing to celebrate the Porcino d'oro after a four-year stop. On 5 and 6 November the great cultural festival returns with a program full of events. The event organized by the Pro Loco Siccaderba chaired by Raffaele Sestu and the Municipality led by the mayor Angelo Stochino becomes international.

For eleven consecutive years the country had hosted, every year, a different Italian region. The 2022 edition instead sees a great novelty: the twinning with Corsica. The mayor of Sartene, Paul Quilichini, will arrive in the heart of Ogliastra with a delegation.

It starts on 5 November at 9 with a guided mycological excursion in the Arzanese woods by the Pro Loco. At 11, the Corsican delegation is expected to arrive and the stands will be set up. In the afternoon, at 3.30 pm, the Mycological exhibition by the Ogliastra mycological group will be inaugurated, followed by the inauguration of the exhibition "I 12 graffi" by Roberto Zirami. The stands and cellars of Arzano will open. The official meeting ceremony between Sartène and Arzana will be held at 4.30 pm in the Anselmo Contu multipurpose room. The day will continue with the lecture by Dr. Michele Puxeddu, of the Italian Academy of Forestry Sciences, entitled: "The enhancement of the ecosystem services provided by the woods: mushrooms". Following the award ceremony of the "Paolo Pillonca Trophy", and the conference "The culture of singing", held by Professor Bachisio Bandinu, will be attended by the Su Nugoresu choir, the Aggius choir and the Corsican choir "Amici di Sartene". The day will end in music in the square with the animation of the Abbafrida folk group and the Antes Band.

On Sunday 6th November at 9am we will leave for another mycological excursion. The stands, exhibitions and cellars will open at 9.30. At 10 in the parish church of San Martino the concelebrated mass will be held by the parish priests of Arzana and Sartène, in the company of the Arbatax choir. The commemoration of the Fallen in War will follow with the participation of the Tamburini and Trumpeters group from Oristano. At 12 the start of the Porcino d'Oro competition in the La Pineta restaurant directed by Sergio Mei. At 3 pm entertainment in the square with the Abbafrida folk group. We will move to the council chamber at 4 pm for the conference "Insularity seen from Corsica and Sardinia" with the participation of the honorable Michele Cossa, president of the Special Insularity Commission. Finally, at 5 pm there will be the award ceremony of the Oscar della Cucina and the award ceremony of the Porcino d'Oro 2022.
