The fifth day of the sit-in at the Eurallumina silo began with tensions running high among the workers, exhausted by the cold at forty meters above sea level and exasperated by the lack of positive news on the release of funds.
"The terrible weather doesn't scare us, but let's be clear: the Ministry and the Government must give us immediate answers on the allocation of funds," says Enrico Pulisci, speaking on behalf of the workers protesting at the silo. "The €10 million we're requesting from the Government will then be charged to the company; it's not a non-repayable grant. The law requires it: whoever imposed the sanctions must resolve the problem. In Ireland, Germany, and Sweden, no sanctions have been applied to the Rusal plants; only in Italy, and those who suffer the consequences are us, the Sardinian workers."
A union meeting is scheduled for this morning to assess the findings of yesterday's meeting in Rome between President Todde and Minister Giorgetti.
