Long, very long lines at the gates and waiting times are getting longer at Cagliari-Elmas Airport. Today, the Sardinian capital's airport is once again dealing with the chaos of the backflow, on the weekend that effectively marks the end of the summer season.

Many passengers are heading out of Sardinia and back to their hometowns, with the island's airports dealing with a heavy influx of travelers. In recent days, in Cagliari, endless lines in departure areas and longer boarding times had already been reported.

The situation is particularly delicate in these last days of August, when the traditional return of tourists is compounded by difficulties related to flight availability, especially on the territorial continuity routes to Milan.
