The Board of Directors of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) met to examine the serious events that recently involved the Institute's researchers engaged in scientific activities in Lula .
"The Board of Directors," a statement reads, "unanimously expressed its support and solidarity with the researchers involved and reiterated the need to ensure complete safety and peace of mind for those who work daily in the local research community."
The INGV also confirmed its commitment "to continue the scientific activities related to the construction of the Einstein Telescope, an internationally significant research infrastructure to which the Institute contributes its scientific and technological expertise. Scientific research cannot ignore its relationship with the local communities and the respect and protection of the people who work there."
