Months without rain affect the wheat year. In the Middle and Lower Campidano and Trexenta, among the most important areas dedicated to cereal cultivation, they are already dealing with a losing season (yet another) for growers who, a few weeks after the start of the harvest, fear the verdict of combine harvesters: a harvest more than halved is expected.

Far from the fields, in the seaside houses of areas with a tourist vocation such as Baronia and Ogliastra, which have resources guaranteed by the basins only until the beginning of August, a summer season with heavy water restrictions is predicted, so much so that some entrepreneurs are thinking to invest in sea water desalinators so as not to close the taps.

A red warning light for drought in those areas? In Tertenia, in the Marina di Sarrala, salt water is already reaching homes.
