Upon seeing the police car, with the officers who had ordered them to stop, they attempted to flee at breakneck speed along State Road 130, towards Iglesias. They traveled several kilometers at 160 km/h, with the Carbonia police car following them, then took the turnoff for Musei and entered the town with their foot firmly on the accelerator. But it wasn't enough to get away: the police car caught up with them, and just before they were stopped, a package was thrown from the passenger window.
From that moment—the evening of October 22nd—trouble began for Mauro Arisci and Gianluca Nurchi, 33 and 35, both from Villasor . The package they tried to dispose of, quickly recovered by officers, contained 848 grams of marijuana. This discovery led to further searches of both their homes. At Nurchi's home, another 33 grams of cannabis and scales were found, while at Arisci's home, substances believed to be drug-related were found.
Both were placed in handcuffs. Yesterday, during the validation hearing in the Oristano court, Arisci— represented by the lawyer Fabio Cannas —was placed under house arrest, partly due to his criminal record. Nurchi (represented by Brigida Corbo ) was ordered to remain in his home.
