He disembarked in Porto Torres with nearly six kilos of cocaine in his car . The man, a 59-year-old Spaniard , was arrested by the Guardia di Finanza of the Porto Torres Company during checks to combat illicit trafficking organized by the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Sassari.

The operation took place during the disembarkation of the vehicles aboard the ferry from Genoa. The financial police stopped a car carrying a man who immediately aroused suspicion. Checks on the travel documents, the ownership of the car, and the uncertain and evasive answers provided prompted the military and canine units to investigate further. Using their drug-sniffing dogs, Karma and Fred, the Guardia di Finanza identified a complex mechanism that allowed the opening of a specially designed compartment beneath the vehicle's manual transmission . Inside, they found five blocks of cocaine, weighing a total of nearly 6 kilograms .

The drugs were seized, and the 59-year-old was arrested red-handed and handed over to the Sassari Judicial Authority, who ordered his transfer to Bancali Prison on charges of international possession and transportation of narcotics. The operation is part of the Guardia di Finanza's daily institutional duties in the province to combat international drug trafficking and contribute to the country's internal and external security.
