First silence, then doubts. Giuseppe Farris (Civica 2024) , opposition councilor in the City Council, returns to the project for the new Cagliari Calcio stadium.
After highlighting "mysterious delays" in the operation, he now turns his attention to the plant's financial plan: "Who's afraid of third-party audits?" he asks.
And he explains, "Contrary to what the sports councilor announced in the City Council on April 14, the administration has decided not to submit the Economic and Financial Plan to the MEF (Ministry of Economy and Finance) for review ."
Farris clarifies: "There was no formal obligation, but the issue here isn't legal. It's methodological. While the project is slowing down and further investigations are being requested, involving a €200,000 legal consultancy, why not seek additional verification when the city is being tied down for half a century? "
"Really," he concludes, "given a transaction costing approximately €220 million, supported by significant public resources, wasn't it appropriate to pursue transparent and reliable procedures? If the economic and financial plan is truly solid, why forgo a technical review by the Ministry?"
