The snowfall of these hours on Gennargentu is also accompanied by the interruption of electricity at the Tascusì border crossing, which plunges the territory back into the nightmare of the 2023 blackout.
And while there have been no disruptions to traffic, with the Province's "Snow Plan" implemented without a hitch, the concern of Desulesi entrepreneurs remains, exasperated by the energy outages: "At 6 in the morning," thunders Bastiano Frongia, of the Is Cubas restaurant, "we received phone calls from customers staying in our facility, warning us of the blackout. We alerted the Enel teams who promptly intervened, restoring the supply at 10:30. We appreciate the work of the workers, but it is not possible that all this can happen with the slightest snowfall. Our guests were left in the cold for hours."
Frongia adds: "It's nice that the work to upgrade the lines is proceeding with the companies appointed by Terna operating between our town and the surrounding areas, but we cannot allow ourselves the same scenario as in previous years. Fortunately, the day then went well, with customers enchanted by the food and landscapes. We have immense potential, but services must be guaranteed, otherwise the sector risks serious damage."
Regarding E-Distribuzione, the Enel Group company that manages the medium and low voltage electricity grid, specifies that "the lack of electricity was caused by the fall of a pine tree that, although located outside the areas of competence of the Electricity Grid Operator, fell on one of our medium voltage overhead power lines. Thanks to the maneuvers on the other medium voltage lines carried out remotely, it was possible to re-power most of the customers involved and, at the same time, the staff immediately went to the site to carry out the necessary activities to restore the service for the additional 5 users that could not be immediately re-powered. We take this opportunity to remind you that E-Distribuzione is investing significant resources to improve the electricity service in the Barbagia area, the work on which is currently underway".
