Deiana brothers, the family requests the recovery of their bodies: "A mother's unending grief."
Remains found in Golfo Aranci that may be those of Lorenzo, who disappeared at sea with Giuseppe on April 19, 2025. The mother's lawyer has appealed for a search.Magistrate Sara Martino has ordered an autopsy and DNA testing on the remains recovered this morning in a stretch of sea not far from Figarolo, in the Golfo Aranci area. Initial investigations appear to confirm the identification, still unproven, of Lorenzo Deiana, the 20-year-old who disappeared on April 19 of last year along with his brother Giuseppe in a stretch of sea between Capo Figari and Figarolo.
The victims' families and lawyer Pietro Cherchi, who has been following the investigation for a year on behalf of the brothers' mother, Simona Deiana, have arrived at the docks of the Golfo Aranci port. The Deiana family now awaits the activation of all procedures to complete the recovery of the bodies. Pietro Cherchi says: "In a mother's grief, there is now only this expectation: that the wait will end. The tools and opportunities to provide an answer to these suffering people exist."
The reference is to the use of Navy resources and personnel, as has been done in other similar cases. According to what has emerged today (confirming reports made to the Tempio Prosecutor's Office in recent months by attorney Cherchi) , the two brothers' vessel may be located in a depth of about fifty meters, not far from where Giuseppe and Lorenzo were shipwrecked.
The families of the two boys from Olbia now want help to ease their suffering, at least by recovering what remains at sea.
