Yesterday it was the turn of the Aida Cosma . A giant of the sea, nearly 350 meters long, she brought over 6,000 tourists to the city, thrilled by the beautiful sunny morning. Scattered throughout the city center, they strolled, snapped photos, ate, drank, and bought souvenirs to take home. And so everyone smiled: vacationers, restaurateurs, and merchants.
The vessel , which docked in the port for a few hours, was in fact just the latest in a long list of cruise ships that have chosen the capital as a short-term vacation destination in 2025. And they will continue to dock until early December, closing out a record-breaking season for Cagliari's tourism industry, with total arrivals expected to reach approximately 605,000. Never before have so many cruise ships arrived.
It's easy to understand why, on the other side of the docks, shop owners can only be happy about a steady flow of holidaymakers even during the months when the beaches are empty, the umbrellas are closed, and above all, air travel is significantly reduced.
