A packed church and hundreds of people paid their last respects to Carlo Spiga, the 61-year-old truck driver from Monastir who died Thursday morning at Cagliari's Porto Canale , crushed by a load of pipes while working.
Many gathered around the family to pay tribute to "Carletto," as family and friends called him.
A cheerful man, with a free spirit, always available and capable of offering a smile or a chat with anyone he met on the street. A memory shared by friends, acquaintances, and colleagues, who this afternoon filled the Parish of Saints Peter and Paul to accompany him on his final journey.
At the end of the ceremony, those present embraced the family before the coffin was taken to the crematorium in Cagliari.
