A tire blowout while driving is believed to be the cause of the accident that occurred this morning on the 130 highway in the Villaspeciosa area.

According to initial reconstructions, a Mercedes A-Class, traveling toward Cagliari, suddenly lost control following the explosion, violently impacting the central guardrail and subsequently hitting another vehicle traveling in the same lane.

Both drivers were rescued by emergency medical services and transported with a red code, later downgraded to a yellow code, to the emergency room at Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari. One is a pregnant woman. Their injuries are not life-threatening. The vehicles involved suffered extensive damage.

The technical surveys and traffic management, temporarily slowed to allow the area to be secured, were handled by the Decimomannu Carabinieri, who are continuing their investigations to determine the exact dynamics of the accident.
