Macomer, fatal crash at the intersection for Tossilo: Gianstefano Fara, former Mister Universe, dies.
A 55-year-old from Bortigali, his Alfa Romeo 147 crashed into the guardrail on the road leading to the industrial area. Traffic was diverted.

Gianstefano Fara, 55, a former Mister Universe athlete from Bortigali, was killed in a serious road accident that occurred around 1:00 PM at kilometer 138 of State Road 131.
His Alfa Romeo 147 crashed into the corner of the intersection leading to the industrial area of Tossilo, towards Macomer.
A violent impact required the intervention of the 7A team of the Macomer fire department and 118 emergency vehicles. The air ambulance was also called, but unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the driver, who was traveling alone. Traffic police officers were on the scene. The stretch of road, ANAS reports, has been closed to traffic: vehicles have been diverted to the Tossilo exit.
The news has caused great grief in Bortigali, where Gianstefano Fara was well-respected and known for his work as a bodybuilder and personal trainer: in addition to winning the title of Mister Universe in 2016, he was also Mister Italy. In recent years, he had stepped away from sports.
