«The mandate of the current Extraordinary Commissioner of ASL 3 of Nuoro, Angelo Zuccarelli , appointed by Regional Council Resolution no. 23/3 of 27 April 2025, pursuant to Regional Law no. 8 of 11 March 2025, is fully valid and legitimate, as are all the acts adopted by the Company , as it was conferred in accordance with the list available up to the date of the day before yesterday, on the basis of which the Extraordinary Commissioner had all the suitability requirements to assume the role at ASL 3».
This is what the Nuoro Local Health Authority (ASL) clarified in a statement, following the controversy raised by a press release from the Sardinian Action Party (Partito Sardo d'Azione ) regarding the alleged lack of qualifications of the commissioners of the Local Health Authorities of Nuoro and Oristano.
"The publication of the subsequent list, which includes restrictions on taking up the position based on the region's population," the Nuoro Local Health Authority continues, " has no bearing on an appointment made last April, as the principle of retroactivity is invalid."
Furthermore, the statement continues, "Extraordinary Commissioner Angelo Zuccarelli intends to reassure citizens of the full legitimacy of the measures adopted thus far: any other inference is absolutely instrumental and devoid of any legal basis."
"In the meantime," the ASL concludes, "appropriate and necessary investigations are already underway to understand the reason for the different suitability assessment compared to the list in effect when Angelo Zuccarelli was appointed. Zuccarelli, however, has always been on the list of eligible candidates and has been confirmed in subsequent updates without any limitations."
Yesterday, the Oristano Local Health Authority also responded to the concerns raised by Psd'Az, also specifying that the role of Extraordinary Commissioner Federico Argiolas, "assigned with Regional Government Resolution No. 23/5 of April 27, 2025, is fully valid and legitimate , as are all the actions adopted by the Company, as it was conferred in accordance with the list available until yesterday, on the basis of which the Extraordinary Commissioner had all the suitability requirements."
