"We have decided not only not to reduce our participation in Sardinia, but to relaunch it and therefore participate in the Sardinian Technical Committee's tender. We have a duty to defend the precious heritage we have built on the island, where we have nearly 300 human resources ." Despite the appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) – the hearing is scheduled for December 22 – Aeroitalia will fight for the new territorial continuity. CEO Gaetano Intrieri wrote this in a communication addressed to all the company's employees.
The deadline for submitting expressions of interest in the tender for the six routes between Sardinian airports (Cagliari, Olbia, and Alghero) and the two main national airports , Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate, expired yesterday at 1 p.m. Ita Airways and Volotea could also be in the running.
Even a possible collaboration between companies is not ruled out: in the background there is the hypothesis of a temporary grouping of companies.
The tender commission has already been appointed. The opening of the bids is scheduled for Monday. Meanwhile, the new continuity model, which will come into force at the end of March, is pending an appeal to the Regional Administrative Court (TAR) filed by Aeroitalia itself.
