«With regard to the controversy raised by the centre-right on the alleged new allocation approved by the Council last 18 June , it is necessary to make some clarifications, since it is unacceptable to continue reading embarrassing statements, evidently aimed at exploiting the facts and the acts».
This is the Todde council 's response to the centre-right's harsh attack on the latest resolution focusing on consultancy.
A measure stigmatized, among others, by the group leader of Fratelli d'Italia Paolo Truzzu , who accuses the M5S and the majority forces of behaving like "hungry grabbers of positions of power, even going as far as to increase them through consultancy" with "almost three million for three years, with some bizarre choices and even damaging to the legislative autonomy of the Regional Council".
And opposition councilor Alessandro Sorgia also spoke of "a real institutionalized seat-filler, financed with public money and managed in an opaque manner."
Sources from Villa Devoto, however, disclose the regional administration's response: "We are talking about a resolution that simply provides for the distribution of an existing fund, which the Todde Council has in no way established ex novo. The only real novelty compared to the past is the absolute transparency introduced: the Council has in fact indicated in a clear and detailed manner how the resources will be used."
"The resolution in question - the same sources continue - is necessary to identify spending objectives and to provide citizens with full awareness of the use of public funds. The resources will be allocated to specialist consultancy in support of strategic policies for the Sardinia Region, in full coherence with our electoral program and perfectly aligned with the Regional Development Plan (PRS). It is also important to underline that a resolution cannot authorize new spending, but - as in this case - exclusively indicates the purposes of spending already authorized by law".
Then the counterattack: " We know well that the center-right, unlike what we are doing in the government of the Region, is not used to reporting to citizens on how their money is spent. Also in light of these substantial differences, we cannot tolerate the spreading of falsehoods devoid of any logical and legal basis", thus clarify sources of the regional council.
