Condolences in Piscinas for the death of Matteo Cossu , who died yesterday in an accident on the 293 , at the entrance to the town.
The 43-year-old was well-known in the town: "I express my condolences to the family," said Mayor Giacomo Bachis . "Matteo leaves behind a 23-year-old son; this is a terrible tragedy for the family and the town. I want to emphasize the danger of state highway 293, especially given the presence of two bridges where the road narrows, creating a hazard . We hope that this incident will expedite the decisions of the competent authorities regarding a long-overdue intervention along the state highway."
Cossu was driving along the highway toward Piscinas when, just before the narrow bridge often cited by mayors as dangerous, his car skidded. He lightly struck a Sky technician's van traveling in the opposite direction and ended up in the ditch.
