Bad accident late today in Sant'Antioco, where for reasons to be ascertained a Ford Puma driven by a local girl collided with a Fiat Stilo.

The collision took place in viale Trento at the intersection with via Torino, a central point with a lot of traffic these days due to the many bathers returning from the island's beaches.

On the spot, after the alarm raised by the residents with a call to 118, the ambulances of the Avas of Sant'Antioco and the Asvoc of Carbonia intervened, assisted by the medical colleagues of the Sirai hospital in Carbonia. The Carbonia firefighters are also in action.

The occupants of the Puma suffered the worst: an 18-year-old boy who suffered trauma to his face and a 28-year-old girl who complained of severe pain in her arm . Both were transported to the Sirai hospital in Carbonia. Fortunately no one was seriously injured, including the occupants of the other car.

It will be the task of the carabinieri of the Sant'Antioco station, who carried out the surveys, to ascertain the causes of the accident.

The road was closed for a long time until the cars were removed and the roadway was cleaned.
