She blew out her candles surrounded by friends, family, and others. Also present for the occasion were Mayor Antonello Figus, Councilor Nicola Delogu, and Monsignor Roberto Caria .

"My mother is doing great, better than me," says her son Francesco Diana, the youngest of four siblings. "She's lucid and self-sufficient. She still loves cooking."

Vicenzina Contu, a widow since 1986, originally from Sant'Antioco but a lifelong resident of Santa Giusta, is known in the village for the many mattresses she has made over the years , both in horsehair and wool. Mayor Antonello Figus: "Tzia Cincina, as we all affectionately call her, is in great physical and mental shape. So much so that she made us coffee with her own hands to thank us for our visit."
