Eight fatal stab wounds to the back were used to kill Giovanni Musu, plus a ninth to the throat, the deepest, perhaps inflicted after the man was already dead . The autopsy performed yesterday afternoon did not provide much new information compared to what investigators have already gathered about the crime committed on the night of January 16th to 17th, at the entrance to the Monte Rosmarino park in Carbonia . However, it seems increasingly certain that his killer and those involved in the crime intended to obscure the body and attempted to do so in various ways, after destroying his identity documents, including a clumsy attempt to burn the victim's body.

Currently, two people are under formal investigation into the murder of the 53-year-old man from Carbonia: William Serra and Marco Atzeni. Another person is still suspected of not having disclosed all his information to the judicial police . Serra and Atzeni both knew the victim very well and were summoned to the police station within hours of the murder. The answers awaited from the leads still being examined by the Carabinieri's RIS (Investigative Unit).
