Cagliari, works to replace the water networks in Villanova have begun from Via Einaudi

The work, announced last week by Abbanoa , to replace the water mains in the Villanova district of Cagliari, began this morning. The first block is via Einaudi, from the intersection with via Orlando to the intersection with via Alghero: from today the road is closed during construction hours, from 8 am to 6 pm, and parking spaces have been temporarily removed until the work is completed.

This is the first of eleven sections involved. To limit as much as possible the impacts of the work in progress on the traffic in the area, the company in charge will complete the first section and then move on to the subsequent ones where they will proceed in the same step . This will allow traffic to be blocked only during the moments of actual interventions on the construction site.

In total, 11 sub-zones have been identified : the stretch of Via Einaudi between Via Alghero and Via Orlando (started today), Via Orlando, the stretch of Via Einaudi between Via Abba and Via Orlando, Via Abba, the stretch of Via Einaudi between Via Oristano and Via Abba, the stretch of Via Oristano between Via Eleonora d'Arborea and Via Einaudi, the stretch of Via Oristano between Via Einaudi and Via Iglesias, the stretch of Via Iglesias between Via Oristano and Vico San Lucifero, the stretch of Via Iglesias between Vico San Lucifero and Via Eleonora d'Arborea, the stretch of Via Iglesias between Via Eleonora d'Arborea and Via Garibaldi. In order not to interfere with traffic related to the presence of schools, work will begin in June on the streets of Via Ozieri, Via Macomer and Via Tempio during the summer break of the school year .

Tomorrow, Tuesday 11 February, to carry out the connection operations to the existing network it will be necessary - between 9 and 16:30 - to temporarily suspend the operation of the section of the water network of via Alghero between the intersections of via Garibaldi and via Einaudi . There will therefore be drops in pressure and temporary interruptions in the affected section.

The construction site will completely replace 1.2 kilometers of pipes in Villanova, including main pipes and utility connections . The investment is 1.3 million euros, from Fsc funds. The intervention comes after about one hundred repairs were necessary in the pipes, which were rather degraded, in the last ten years. They will be replaced with new ones in spheroidal cast iron, with a diameter of 150 millimeters.
