Cagliari, tragic accident in San Bartolomeo: man dies while riding his scooter

The victim of today's tragic fatal accident in Cagliari's San Bartolomeo neighborhood was Ignazio Cabiddu, 69, who died around 3:00 PM at Brotzu Hospital, where he was admitted following a collision with a car while riding his Lambretta.
The accident occurred in the early afternoon, around 12:30 p.m. Cabiddu was driving at the intersection of Via Vergine di Lluc and Piazza San Bartolomeo when he collided with a car driven by a forty-two-year-old. The victim was transported to Brotzu Hospital by ambulance: initially, his condition did not appear to be serious, so much so that a yellow code was assigned . Shortly thereafter, the sixty-nine-year-old's condition worsened, and that afternoon the hospital announced his death.
The impact occurred between the front of Cabiddu's Lambretta and the left door of the car. Both vehicles have been seized: the Cagliari local police are currently investigating to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the tragic accident.
Cabiddu had recently turned 69: he was originally from Mandas, but lived in Selargius.
