Stop the music in piazza Martiri, in Cagliari : the agents of the municipal police arrived to stop the violinist Jacob Gonzalez this evening. A few months ago, the musician had become the protagonist of a controversy – which ended with an embrace – with a shopkeeper in the area, who had called the carabinieri because she was annoyed by the notes of the instrument, radiated by a small amplifier.

Today Gonzalez ends up at the center of a political confrontation. Because the leader of the Democratic Party in the city council, Fabrizio Marcello, denounced the intervention of the local police: «A street artist who was kicked out because his music seems to be too loud», he attacks, «we are talking about an artist who masterfully performs excellent music . Unfortunately», and here is the lunge against the administration, «the mayor Paolo Truzzu is about to bring to the courtroom the new urban police regulation, the one that forbids hanging clothes, and wants a strong municipality with the weak, while the city is in chaos: construction sites stopped everywhere, traffic, unreachable Castle and dirt everywhere. And they think of those who play for free to cheer passers-by and want to kick out those who ask for alms».
