The DJ was inside, with his console. But the music was also heard outside. The entertainment offered to customers on the evening of 5 May is expensive for the owners of the Bar Florio: the manager of the Productive Activities service of the Municipality of Cagliari , Alessandro Cossa, suspended the concession of public land for 30 days, from 16 June to 15 July (included). A sting, when the summer season is about to get underway.

The decision was taken on the basis of a local police report. That Friday evening the agents carried out checks in via San Domenico, the beating heart of Villanova.

They noted "the use of an electro-acoustic system for amplification and sound diffusion of musical pieces, managed by a DJ, in the absence of a valid qualification". Specifically, we read, «music was produced and broadcast using a Pioneer console, a Yamaha mixer, a Labgruppen amplifier, two white loudspeakers: this instrumentation», write the agents, «was installed inside the club and the music was propagated from the inside out, audible in the public street as the front door was permanently open».

And it is this last detail that "condemns" the owners: by regulation, music cannot be broadcast outside. The Municipality also rejected all the counter-arguments presented by the owners: «The permanent non-closing of the doors, in itself, constitutes an omission of the obligation to prepare, by the concessionaire or the employees», the Municipality says, «of every necessary precaution to avoid the connection between these activities, of a possible and ancillary nature, and the external space". Summer starts badly for one of the most popular places in the historic center of Cagliari.
