It risks being a drain on the people of Cagliari. The accounts show that this year they will pay a 15 percent increased rate in the autumn. Mayor Massimo Zedda launched the alarm on the occasion of the official inauguration in the Municipality (the handover with Commissioner Luisanna Marras ) this afternoon. «From what I inherited, no resources were used to reduce the costs of the Tari, a "cleaning up" job will be needed immediately to avoid the fifteen percent increase».

To balance the accounts, approximately 5 million euros will be needed , which the administration will now try to seek also in a dialogue with the Region which could refinance the single fund for local authorities of one hundred million. It's a question of money, then. This is why this year the choice of New Year's Eve will also change. «There won't be a one and a half million New Year's Eve but it will be a widespread and more sober New Year's Eve», says the mayor again.
Beyond the numbers, the handover with Commissioner Marras who has governed the Municipality for the last three months is also a moment reserved for planning the next commitments: on Monday 8th the first municipal council will meet and that will be the opportunity to announce the new council. Meanwhile, on Friday afternoon, a public meeting will take place in Piazza Galilei to inform citizens about the choices that the administration will make.
