"Disgusted." This was the first thought Silvia Perra shared on social media yesterday when she learned of the sentence—10 years and 8 months— handed down to Yari Fa, who stabbed her boyfriend Fabio Piga to death in Donegal .

After her first post, the girl quickly elaborated her thoughts in a follow-up: "How much is a life worth? Really very little. The Italian justice system doesn't care if you were a good guy, a kind and caring man, a decent person who respected the rules," she began her reflection, virtually addressed to her partner.

A man in love with life, his family, his dear friends. A man with whom I had made plans for life, for the future, for a family together.

Everything swept away on that 2nd June 2024 and razed to the ground on 17th November 2025", the day of the verdict.

"Because the life that was taken from you was only worth 10 years and 8 months. We believed in this justice to the end. Now we hope for divine justice," is the bitter conclusion.

The sentence was determined by the abbreviated trial and by an expert report that certified the semi-insane nature of the twenty-year-old held responsible for the crime.
