Theft, misuse and counterfeiting of credit cards.
On this charge, the Cagliari Police arrested a 32-year-old, homeless and known to the police , who had already been issued with a deportation order from the Police Commissioner prohibiting him from returning to the capital.
An order which he never complied with, however.
The Flying Squad officers stopped him after receiving a complaint from a young man, who reported a theft in his van, parked near Largo Carlo Felice.
In particular, the victim reported receiving an alert on his smartphone about some payments made at a tobacconist in the area with his cards, as well as several attempts to withdraw money from an ATM. Suspecting that someone had stolen his wallet from the van, he alerted the police.
The Flying Squad officers, after having acquired the video surveillance images of the tobacconist, began a search in the area and a few minutes later they noticed a man corresponding to the characteristics of the suspect present in the videos. The latter, subjected to a personal search, was found in possession of the young man's wallet, with debit cards, cash and other personal effects inside.
At that point all the stolen goods, as well as two other purses hidden in two different places, were recovered and returned to the owner, while the 32-year-old was taken to the police station and then to the Uta prison .
