Another morning of mobilization in the heart of the city. This morning, Piazza Matteotti became a gathering place for dozens of pro-Palestine activists, who around 9 a.m. began a march toward Piazza Repubblica, chanting slogans like " Free Palestine" and holding signs in solidarity with the Flotilla activists, who were stopped in international waters by the Israeli navy and arrested.

The protesters crossed Via Roma, Via XX Settembre, Via Sonnino and then returned to Piazza Matteotti shouting “If help doesn’t arrive, we’ll blockade the city.”

The demonstration, following yesterday's large turnout, was unannounced and quickly spread by word of mouth on WhatsApp and social media, mirroring dynamics seen today in several other Italian cities.

Spontaneous yet organized, the protest had an immediate impact on the city's traffic: slowdowns and disruptions were reported along the city center's main arteries, with law enforcement engaged in diverting traffic and ensuring the safety of the march.

Further initiatives are planned throughout the day in various areas of the Sardinian capital, a prelude to what promises to be a highly attended general strike tomorrow.

Tonight, at 8:30 PM, two flash mobs are planned in front of the Brotzu hospitals on Via Peretti and the Policlinico di Monserrato. In Cagliari, the strike will start tomorrow in Piazza Garibaldi at 9:30 AM and end in Piazza del Carmine, while another sit-in is planned for Saturday at 5 PM in Piazza Garibaldi.

The protests, activists explain, aim to keep attention high on the humanitarian emergency in the Middle East and denounce the naval blockade imposed on the Flotilla, which is delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.
