Cagliari native Valentina Greco, 42, missing in Tunisia: no news for ten days
The parents, newsagents from Is Mirrionis, are desperate. Their brother is leaving, and friends report advances from a man she had rejected.Family and friends haven't heard from her for ten days now. Valentina Greco, a 42-year-old from Cagliari, has lived in Sidi Bou Said, the city of artists, 20 kilometers from Tunis, for three years . She lives alone and works remotely for international companies and collaborates with the UN as a human rights consultant.
The last phone call to her mother was on July 9th : "She was calm, she told me her cell phone was having problems," says Roberta, the mother, who can't seem to find peace. Her parents, Giovanni and Roberta, longtime newsagents in the Is Mirrionis neighborhood of Cagliari , immediately raised the alarm with the authorities: the Embassy, the Carabinieri, Interpol, and the Foreign Ministry.
Tunisian police inspected Valentina's apartment. It was found to be in order. Her computer and cell phone were missing, but her three beloved cats were there. Valentina allegedly wouldn't leave them alone. Friends reported advances from a man. Valentina had rejected them .
Her brother Alessio is leaving for Tunisia . Meanwhile, an appeal is made to Italians in Tunisia: "Anyone who has seen Valentina should contact the authorities immediately."
