"Monumenti Aperti" is back in Cagliari, in memory of Gianni Filippini
Appointment with the event for 27 and 28 May, the special dedication to the former Councilor for Culture of the Municipality and historical director of L'Unione SardaCagliari looks beautiful in view of the weekend .
On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May the Open Monuments event returns to the city. For visitors there are 8 itineraries with the novelty of 5 thematic sections through which it will be possible to explore as many as 53 corners of the capital . A way to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the 1943 bombing of Cagliari.
Among the initiatives also 28 concerts - which will be held in institutional buildings, churches, museums, natural parks and private homes -. 7 new places to discover or rediscover: the church of San Rocco , the Villino Cocco , the headquarters of the Ichnusa Canottieri Society and that of the Eleonora d'Arborea Gymnastics Society , the Mirella Mibelli archive , the Nuragica exhibition and the public media library of the Cineteca Sardinian Humanitarian Society . An army of volunteers was on the field: over 4,500 students and teachers from 48 schools, 416 from 28 associations, 675 for the Monuments in music project from 27 organizations.
The 2023 edition of the event is dedicated to Gianni Filippini , former Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Cagliari and historic director of L'Unione Sarda , who passed away last December. «The 27th anniversary of Monumenti Aperti – explained the president of Imago Mundi, who organizes the event, at the press conference – wants to mark a new spring for our project, because it marks the return to normality, relaunching the prospects, in the short and medium and long term, of the project itself».
Also scheduled are walks in the Sardinian language between the Marina district and the streets of Castello. Also this year the event, for the second consecutive time, will be held under the high patronage of the European Parliament. Monumenti Aperti also received the medal of representation from the Presidency of the Italian Republic, as has been the case since 2008.
