A veritable home greenhouse for growing marijuana was discovered by the Carabinieri inside the home of a 40-year-old resident of Tortolì, already known to law enforcement for previous drug-related offences.

The operation began on Sunday, during a targeted operation to combat drug trafficking conducted by soldiers from the Tortolì station together with colleagues from the Lanusei Anti-Crime Squad.

The Carabinieri officers, after reaching the man's home at first light, proceeded with a personal and house search.

Inside, seven growing marijuana plants were found, with a height between 100 and 180 centimeters, 44 already dried plants, 320 grams of inflorescences, and a homemade greenhouse equipped with fans and ultraviolet lamps, presumably used for growing and drying the drug.

After the usual formalities, the man was taken to Lanusei prison, where he awaited the validation hearing, held yesterday afternoon.

The judge ordered him to be placed under house arrest.
