The image of the Amphitheater is always the worst.

With the tourists who (without worry) go back and forth to visit that small part open to the public (even on August 15th) and who find themselves faced with a merciless image: weeds, bottles and rubbish of all kinds cover the white limestone rock along the entire gate of the most important public building in Roman Sardinia.

Villa Tigellio, on the other hand, is still closed : the Roman-era residential complex is increasingly submerged by vegetation.

But degradation and neglect also envelop other monuments of the city : there is always the Bastion with its marble benches destroyed (especially by those who climb on them to take a selfie), the plexiglass smeared and cracked in several points («But at the end August will be cleaned up», says the councilor for public works Gabriella Deidda), the endless construction site of Santa Caterina.

Another "criticality" is the monumental cemetery of Bonaria, where there are broken tombstones immersed in the weeds, niches used as a waste deposit, fragments of cement sprouting under the grass, pieces of wall. A restyling would be needed but for the Municipality it is very difficult to find the funds.

But. Mad.
