He was an intellectual who turned his attention to historical research, journalism, the Church, politics, and civic engagement. Bruno Terlizzo , who died at the age of 88, had many interests and fields of activity.

He was born in Lazio, in Littoria, now Latina, but over the years Sardinia had become a place close to his heart . He taught Philosophy at the Siotto High School. He was convinced, following the teachings of Don Milani, that "the poverty of the poor is not measured by bread, by home, by heat. It is measured by the level of culture and social function. Social class distinctions cannot therefore be made based on land taxable income, but on cultural values." He believed in these values, which he reflected on in public meetings and in articles for newspapers and magazines.

For many years, in the columns of L'Unione Sarda, with always timely articles , he focused on religious questions and aspects concerning the path of the Sardinian church with a careful and often critical eye.

He was one of the founders of the Gramsci Institute of Sardinia in 1990. Gramsci's words were a point of reference for him: "Educate yourselves, because we will need all our intelligence. Agitate, because we will need all our enthusiasm. Organize, because we will need all our strength."

He was not just a man of thought. A city councilor in Cagliari, elected as a member of the Communist Party in the late 1980s, he successfully brought together Catholic solidarity and the communist tradition. He embraced open-minded debate, convinced that only by building bridges of dialogue could the community's social and economic challenges be effectively addressed.
