The heavy rains that hit Cagliari during the night also stopped the light metro .

This morning, in fact, the service managed by ARST did not start.

The cause? The water reached a subway station, flooding it . The disruption occurred in Pirri, which promptly flooded, as happens with every storm. Out of caution, the company has decided not to resume service and is working to resolve the problem, with the goal of restarting the trains connecting Repubblica to San Gottardo this afternoon.

A company statement reads: "ARST has temporarily suspended the MetroCagliari service on Line 1 "Repubblica-San Gottardo" to proceed with caution, following the heavy rain that has fallen in recent hours, with the necessary checks."

A decision that "became necessary this morning, in the name of passenger safety and to allow company staff to carefully check for any anomalies in the power supply system that could have caused critical issues during service."
