The wife of Antonangelo Lecca, 56 years old from Barrali found lifeless in a stream in Bau Mannu on 10 January, was entered in the register of suspects with the hypothesis of voluntary murder.

The investigations were assigned by the prosecutor Diana Lecca to the investigative unit of the Cagliari carabinieri who carried out the searches and heard the witnesses, then investigating Floriana Cojana, 64, who appointed the lawyer Valeria Pau as her own defender.

To confirm that Lecca was killed were the first elements that emerged from the autopsy carried out by the coroner Roberto Demontis. On the body of the man, who had disappeared in the first days of the year, three wounds and skull fractures were found that are not compatible with the place of discovery. Initially, among the hypotheses evaluated, the one for which the 56-year-old had fallen from the bicycle, recovered not far away, and that then the body had been pushed by the current, but the fractures and wounds convinced the investigators to hypothesize violent death.

In the past he had gotten into trouble several times for mistreating his wife: the last three and a half months before disappearing. On that occasion he had been reported because the woman had been hospitalized at Brotzu hospital with facial injuries, and had later told that she had been inflicted with a stick by her husband.
