Bados, child who died in the camper fire: did the flames start from a cooking stove?
Tragedy on the coast of Olbia, the father hospitalized in the burn center of the Sassari hospitalThe fire that killed an 11-year-old boy, Samuel Imbhuzan, and destroyed two campers in a square near the beach of Bados, on the Olbia coast, could have started from a stove. It is a first hypothesis, yet to be verified, which emerges from the testimonies collected by the carabinieri. The blaze would then have caused the explosion of a cylinder and the subsequent tragic fire.
The explosions were distinctly felt by bathers and residents of nearby houses who also saw a column of dark smoke and, shortly after 1.30pm, sounded the alarm. The firefighters and 118 arrived followed by the carabinieri, civil protection, local police.
Almost immediately the tragic discovery: inside the camper in which the fire originated, the body of a child who had probably fallen asleep. The father, Daniel Romulus Imbhuzan, 52, who suffered burns in 40 percent of his body, was transferred with the 118 helicopter to the burn center of the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari, the mother, Tatiana Lisi, is in hospital in a state of shock. The family is Italian-Romanian and lives in Rimini.
The firefighting helicopter continued with the launches for an hour also to allow for technical surveys and the recovery of the child's body. The mayor of Olbia Settimo Nizzi also arrived at the scene of the accident, bringing the condolences of the city and ensuring assistance to the family.
The investigations carried out by the Carabinieri are coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Tempio.
