For the second time in a few days, the Capo Comino pine forest has been targeted by arsonists . Once again, chance averted the worst: a German tourist couple passing through the area this morning spotted the beginnings of a fire and, thanks to quick reflexes and the use of a fire extinguisher, managed to put out the flames before they spread.

After containing the fire, the two rushed to Moletto to call for help and raise the alarm . The report also reached Mayor Gianluigi Farris, who immediately took action to coordinate the necessary checks and interventions.

The incident comes just days after the first failed fire attempt, which had already prompted the mayor to order the closure of the pine forest to visitors , as a preventative measure to protect the wooded area and reduce the risk of further arson attacks.
