Everything is ready today for the G20 Spiagge, the important national summit that will take place in Arzachena for 3 days until 5 May. In the morning, the delegations of the 26 Italian seaside municipalities that register the highest number of tourist presences, at least one million per year, are expected. In particular, the objective is to "develop innovative strategies and outline projects useful for defining responsible and intelligent management, both in environmental, economic and social terms, of the fragile and precious Italian coasts".

It starts from the Surrau cellars. In Chilvagghja, at 18, with a meeting of mayors belonging to the G20s network, followed by an aperitif and welcome evening.

The days from 3 to 4 May are reserved for insiders. The final conference, open to the public, will be held on the last day of the summit, May 5, at the Municipal Auditorium. And precisely on the latter comes the controversy by Francesco Gambella, ITB Italia regional secretary, who writes: "It is a pity that ITB Italia, together with the majority of the acronyms representing the category of seaside resorts, has not been sent (it would appear, instead , the participation of a single association). A failure that we intend to strongly condemn”.

For the regional secretary ITB Italia “we cannot speak of seaside tourism when some Municipalities foresee in the PUL the cancellation of concessions and the cutting of half of the remaining ones. We cannot speak of the development of seaside tourism when, in the planning of those Municipalities which, in the summer, receive 300,000 tourists, basic services such as showers, changing rooms and toilets are not foreseen. All of this is totally contrary to the concept of development and acceptance". Therefore, "from 10.30 there will be a garrison of the bathing establishments against the Pul of Arzachena, against Bolkestein and in total disagreement against the organization of the G20 beaches which has not invited various associations of bathing establishments depriving us of the possibility of bringing our considerations to the table .”
