Another acquittal this morning in Tempio Pausania for Mario Olianas, the man from Arzachena who grows cannabis in his garden and uses it for medical purposes .

Before the investigating judge, Olianas's lawyer, Maria Assunta Argiolas, provided, for the umpteenth time, medical documentation certifying the prescription of marijuana for therapeutic use . Prosecutor Sara Martino also requested Olianas's acquittal, and the judge granted the defense and prosecutor's requests.

The 40-year-old man was arrested in October last year because he was found in possession of 30 cannabis plants , irrigation, lighting, drying and ventilation systems and approximately 8 kilos of marijuana .

The trial was conducted (abbreviated procedure) according to the usual script. Olianas argued his case, supported by medical certificates: "I'm not a drug dealer and I don't go to dealers to buy marijuana. What was seized is a year's supply. Taking marijuana alleviates my suffering, it's written in the medical certificates." Lawyer Maria Assunta Argiolas has already obtained six acquittals between 2018 and this year. Olianas says: "I would like to be left alone . I don't deal marijuana, I take care of myself."
