One year and two months' imprisonment is the sentence negotiated in the afternoon by Alessio Oggiano , the boy from Arzachena accused of having repeatedly beaten and filmed Abdellah Beqeaw , the 54-year-old homeless Moroccan known to the people of Arzachena as Filippo, found dead in a parking lot of Arzachena on Christmas Eve 2020.

Oggiano's lawyer, the lawyer Vanni Boldarin, had asked for the alternative procedure and the modification of the dispute (from torture to injuries). The prosecutor Mauro Lavra had opposed the request in the last hearing and therefore the serious torture dispute remains standing, it is one of the first sentences of this type in Sardinia.

According to the Temple Prosecutor's Office, the homeless Abdellah Beqeaw was not killed , but suffered for a long time harassment and abuse by a group of very young people, in some cases filmed with mobile phones. The Sassari Juvenile Prosecutor's Office proceeds against two other 16-year-old boys.

The lawyer Vanni Boldarin confirmed that he could ask for a new provision , through an execution incident, if, as has been announced in recent days, the crime of torture were to be modified or abrogated. The criminal lawyer Angelo Merlini, lawyer who assists the relatives of the victim and the Moroccan community of Arzachena, has announced the launch of a civil lawsuit for compensation.
