There is a suspicion that the perpetrator of the arson attack committed last night in Porto Torres, damaging the car owned by an employee of the AOU hospital in Sassari , may have chosen the wrong target.

Near the Golf 6 destroyed by the flames, another car that appears to have the same characteristics.

The fire broke out shortly before 1:00 a.m., on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, on Via Rocco Chinnici, a private road lined with cars belonging to residents of the townhouse complex. CCTV footage shows a hooded man approaching the Golf 6 on foot and setting fire to the passenger side of the vehicle before fleeing.

"A neighbor reported that my car was on fire. The woman was startled awake by her cat, frightened by the high flames that engulfed the car in a matter of moments," explains the Golf owner. Immediate action was therefore taken to move the other cars to prevent them from being damaged by the blaze. Firefighters arrived on the scene and secured the area.

"We have no enemies and we can't understand the reason for this act of intimidation," he continues. "We believe they made a mistake and that the target wasn't actually us."

The video, which confirms the intentional act, is being examined by the Carabinieri of the Porto Torres company, who, having received the complaint from the owner, have begun an investigation also based on the report submitted by the firefighters.
