The Health Commission of the City Council is working to continue its analysis of the health situation in Alghero, with a focus on the Marino hospital.

The Commission chaired by councilor Christian Mulas met at Porta Terra to develop the debate on the operation of the Marino in the hands of the Aou, with the contribution of numbers and "with the objective - it was said in a shared manner - of providing the widest participation in a healthcare plan in which the guarantee of services and performances are put first".

The work of the Commission will continue with further investigations and a summary of which the City Council will be informed. In the meantime, President Mulas brought the data relating to the orthopedic surgical activity of Marino, underlining how the Orthopedics and Traumatology Operating Unit directed by Dr. Giuseppe Melis, has recorded significant progress in terms of surgical activities, with an increase in operational capacity both in terms of number and complexity of interventions. Over 700 interventions have been performed in the last eight months , of which 112 were on the hip, 58 on the knee, 12 for shoulder prostheses, 44 hip endoprostheses. However, Forza Italia underlined the disinterest on the subject by the majority.

"Despite the exhaustive presentation by the president who reported on the improvement of the health services provided in the two local hospitals, thanks to the presence of AOU at the Marino hospital in Alghero, while still maintaining the critical issues that need to be addressed and resolved - explains Marco Tedde - the majority not only did not take a position, but with the absence of councilor Salaris, the lack of the official who drew up the minutes and the departure of some members of the commission before the end of the work, revealed a clear and embarrassing disinterest on the subject", a topic, insist the Azzurri, that should not allow divisions.
