Alghero is preparing to host the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles and for a week it will be a showcase for the world of wine at an international level .

From 2 to 7 July 2024, the Catalan city will be the setting for the session dedicated to effervescent, sparkling and sparkling wines of the authoritative wine competition.

The event will be included in the first edition of the Alguer Wine Week , an event designed to celebrate Sardinia's wine and wine culture through a series of events, tastings and shows, ready to enliven the heart of the city.

The event was presented in Verona, during Vinitaly 2024 , during a packed press conference attended by Mario Peretto, president of the Alghero DOC Consortium, Karin Meriot, of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Francesco Carboni, president of Promo Camera Sassari, Mario Conoci, mayor of Alghero, Antonio Furesi, president of AIS Sardinia and Giovanni Pinna, vice president of the Alghero DOC Consortium.

«We have chosen a prestigious stage like that of Vinitaly because we believe that the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in its Sardinian edition and the Alguer Wine Week are two events of great importance at a national and international level», underline the organization. « Sardinia wants to increasingly establish itself as a wine island on a national and international scale : hosting a world-class event like the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is an extraordinary opportunity for the entire Sardinian department», underlines Mario Peretto.

The event will involve multiple commissions made up of journalists, buyers, experts and influencers, who will explore and talk about their experience in Sardinia.

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles with Alguer Wine Week is promoted and organized by the Consortium for the protection of Alghero DOC wines with the financial support of the Tourism Department of the Sardinia Region and the contribution of institutional partners such as the Municipality of Alghero, the Alghero Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce of Sassari, Promocamera, Laore, AIS Sardegna, Consorzio Riviera del Corallo and CCN Al Centro Storico, to which other entities may be added.
