A policeman on holiday on the island was the first person to intervene at the scene of the terrible road accident that occurred ten days ago, on 26 July, on the State Road 125 near Olbia .
A crash in which six people were injured , including two minors.
Riccardo Colangeli, 36 , a State Police assistant serving at the Cyber Security Operations Center for Tuscany, witnessed the violent head-on collision between a minivan and a car. He was traveling on the 125 highway while on vacation on the island.
The officer didn't hesitate for a moment; after securing his car, he rushed to provide first aid. He first alerted emergency responders and then, while waiting for their arrival, he extracted four of the six people involved in the crash from the cars , helping them reach a safer area. This was despite the large fuel spill on the asphalt.
Before the ambulances and firefighters arrived, Colangeli was the only point of contact on the scene. He managed a very delicate phase and prevented worse consequences for those involved.
Compliments and thanks to the policeman came from the Chief of the Arzachena Fire Brigade, from his colleagues from the Olbia Highway Police and from the family members of one of the people involved in the accident .
