An accident occurred on Via Sassari, at the entrance to the city of Porto Torres. A 14-year-old boy was struck by a car, an Opel Zafira, traveling toward Sassari. The impact left him with a fractured shoulder and an injured femur.

According to initial reconstructions, the boy was crossing the street at the intersection with Via Cellini to reach the bus stop that would take him to school. Just halfway across the road, the teenager was struck by the car. The driver, who provided first aid, stated that he didn't see him because he was blinded by the sun.

The 118 ambulance arrived on the scene with its operators who, after providing first aid, transported the young man to the Sassari Civil Hospital. Carabinieri officers from the Porto Torres branch were also at the scene to conduct surveys and conduct roadwork. The officers interviewed several witnesses to reconstruct the incident.
