An area of approximately 3,200 square meters transformed into an illegal landfill with 34 abandoned vehicles, piles of plastic, and ferrous waste : this is what the Forestry Corps discovered in Selargius , in an area where an illegal pig farm was also located and a stolen car was recovered. The area in question has been seized, and investigations into responsibility are ongoing.
The Forestry Corps has intensified its operations to combat pollution throughout the island and in April also carried out significant interventions in Ottana , after which investigations were started for the abandonment of hazardous special waste, and also in Alghero , where a private citizen had his driving licence withdrawn for using his car to transport and illegally abandon waste.
