Flames erupted this morning at 8 a.m. in the public gardens of Guspini, where a building caught fire and was completely destroyed.
The fire was probably caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder following a short circuit.
The Sanluri firefighters and local police responded to the scene, closing the road to traffic. Firefighters barely had time to remove some cooking gas cylinders from the scene, as their explosion could have further aggravated the damage.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Guspini Carabinieri. The managers of the restaurant, which serves meals and hosts birthday parties, have been interviewed.
