Following a violent brawl two weeks ago at the Ex Me, Nuoro Police Chief Fortunato Marazzita issued a ban on access to urban areas (DACUr.) against three young residents of the city, following a request from the Carabinieri.
The urban DASPO prohibits its recipients from accessing or loitering in nightlife areas and near public venues for a period of two years. Violations are subject to penalties ranging from one to three years in prison and a fine of up to €24,000 .
The incident occurred in the middle of the night, amid the bustle of Nuoro's nightlife. According to the reconstruction by the Nuoro Carabinieri, the three men— two Italians and one foreigner, all regulars in the center —apparently fought in the middle of the street, kicking and punching each other, causing panic among those present. The situation escalated further when one of the young men attempted to pull out a knife. Only the quick intervention of several residents, who immediately alerted the police, prevented the fight from escalating into tragedy.
Two of the brawl's protagonists were already known to the authorities and had received verbal warnings previously issued by the Police Chief, as they were deemed dangerous to society. This incident occurred just a few days before the verbal assault on city councilor Bastianella Buffoni , who was spat on after intervening in an argument between several youths who were threatening another youth.
